After a one-month hiatus, I returned to strength training. I irritated my lower back and did not restart after the spasms ceased. September was a stressful month for me. Like so many, I ditched the most powerful weapon in my anti-stress arsenal: exercise. Lifting went out the window four weeks ago, and the running dwindled to a single three-miler this week. Today, I dragged myself down to my gym for a very low-intensity leg workout.

I'll be the first to admit that exercise is an escape for me. While lifting today, I realized that sometimes the music is the escape.

In any event, today is a new beginning.
